The Storybook Coach uses artificial intelligence to generate reading plans, vocabulary games, and coaching tips based on the books you love. We do our best to keep everything safe, age-appropriate, and aligned with early literacy research — but AI can still make mistakes.
AI isn't perfect
Sometimes the AI may suggest a word that doesn't quite fit your book, use phrasing that feels off, or produce content that misses the mark. We review our prompts and safety filters regularly, but we can't catch everything. If you see something that concerns you, please let us know right away.
What we do to keep kids safe
- •Input filtering: Book titles are screened at submission. Profanity, adult content, slurs, violence, and political terms are blocked before anything reaches the AI.
- •Constrained prompts: We instruct the AI to use only early-literacy language and to avoid political, religious, sexual, or violent topics.
- •Output review: Generated word lists and game content are structured for ages 3–10 and checked against our safety guidelines.
- •Parent control: You choose the reading level, coaching tone, and which books to use. You can pause, skip, or stop any game at any time.
What we ask of you
Please stay nearby while your child plays — especially the first few times. If anything feels off, trust your instincts and reach out. Your feedback helps us improve our filters and keep the experience safe for every family.
